Brave New World Essayito

Aldous Huxley claimed int h video that his new world is just around the corner from us. That was a while ago and we have reached the corner of the street where technology and mindless behavior is evident. Huxley points out the fact that technology robs us of our freedoms and that is true. As humans, we allow materialistic objects to define us and tell us what to do. We let our cell phones and social media define us and take us away from the simplistic lives of living. Technology robs us of our free minds just as commercials do when we watch television. We are involuntarily being exposed to advertisements and bribery and messages that we sometimes don't want to see. We become accustomed and brain washed into memorizing a jingle because it has been played so much. For example, the Charter commercial that has the song and office dance, 18004552999, I have that number memorized because of the jingle and not because I am interested in switching to charter who has features that rock. This is the essence of the intellectual hypnopaedia that didn't work because there was no moral connection with it so when is the time going to come when the moral hypnopeadia comes? As well as technology taking away our freedom, we are not limited in our imagination and we expect what technology has in the future. We are not limited by what cannot be, but we imagine and produce from what we see possible and so we are not surprised by technology and evolution just as in Brave New World where they talk about the past as if it never happened because they are so involved in the future. We are living in the the Brave New World even as much as it seems in odds with ours.
