A Crazy Idea
40 % of Americans do NOT take their designated vacations days. They think that there is just too much work, there will ultimately be more work when you get back, people can't do as good of a job as you, fear of replacement, fear of being seen as lazy or incapable/ not worthy of position, and a bunch of other reasons. I told Emoney this earlier and she said, "And we are still seen as being lazy." That is so true. We are seen as that but what other definition of lazy do others see us American as? (because it sure as heck isn't in that sense). I also heard that vacation is actually a good thing because it lets you refresh and regenerate to do a better job at work. I don't know what's a crazier idea: paying people to vacation, as this one company does, or letting Americans work themselves to death.
